Inspirado pelo crescimento da Hallyu (Onda Coreana) no Brasil e no mundo, o festival traz uma programação inédita que inclui duas oficinas de skincare, uma de prática de tradução e pronúncia sul-coreana e outra de pulseiras Army, Artist Alley, espaço exclusivo para exposição e venda de produções autorais, inspirados da cultura sul-coreana, mostra fotográfica da Coreia do Sul, exposição do Novo Hyundai KONA Hybrid, bate-papos, apresentações culturais, cantinho cultural e de leitura, além de um espaço instagramável, quiz sobre cultura coreana com diversos prêmios, shows de K-pop e apresentação de Taekwondo.
A data escolhida para o festival também tem um significado especial: ele acontece logo após o Gaecheonjeol (개천절), o Dia Nacional da Fundação da Coreia, celebrado em 3 de outubro. A data remonta à lendária fundação de Gojoseon, o primeiro estado da nação coreana, em 2333 a.C., por Dangun, e é considerada o marco da origem do povo coreano. O feriado é comemorado em toda a Coreia do Sul, com cerimônias e celebrações que exaltam a identidade e a história do país.

A K-Fest em São José do Rio Preto recebe três nomes que representam diferentes formas de conexão com a cultura coreana no Brasil. Ao lado do Hi-Mundim, responsável pela concepção do festival, o Riopreto Shopping reafirma seu papel como anfitrião de grandes experiências culturais, aproximando o público regional das tendências globais e da valorização da diversidade.
O Hi-Mundim nasceu em 2013, fundado pelos jornalistas Michelle Monte Mor e Marcelo Ferri. Em 2025, a equipe ganhou o reforço da estrategista de marketing Dani Fernandes.
