Queima do Alho terá seletiva com comitivas em busca de vagas para 2026

Neste ano, além do Concurso no dia 24 de agosto, evento terá seletiva no dia 31 com comitivas em busca de vagas para a disputa oficial em 2026

O Concurso Queima do Alho, um dos momentos mais tradicionais da Festa do Peão de Barretos, acontece no dia 24 de agosto, reunindo 20 comitivas tradicionais de diversas regiões do Brasil. A disputa ocorre no Rancho Ponto de Pouso, no Parque do Peão.

Além disso, neste ano, no dia 31 de agosto, acontecerá uma seletiva com 10 comitivas “novatas” em busca de duas vagas para o concurso oficial de 2026.

A seletiva é uma oportunidade para que novos grupos mostrem seu talento, respeitando o modo de preparo original, com fogo de chão, panelas rústicas e sabores autênticos. Segundo o coordenador da Queima do Alho, João Paulo Martins, “o concurso tem o compromisso de preservar a história e o sabor da culinária das antigas comitivas. Por isso, além de manter os critérios rigorosos de preparo, também criamos essa seletiva como forma de dar oportunidade a novos grupos que respeitem e valorizem esse patrimônio cultural.”

A Queima do Alho
Reconhecida como Patrimônio Cultural Imaterial do Brasil, a Queima do Alho é mais que uma refeição, é um ritual culinário originado das viagens das comitivas de boiadeiros. Os pratos típicos, feitos no fogo de chão, representam resistência, sabor e história:
Arroz carreteiro: com carne seca e temperos rústicos
Feijão gordo: com carnes de porco, bacon e linguiça
Paçoca de carne: carne seca socada com farinha de mandioca e milho
Churrasco: carne assada em brasa viva, apenas com sal e água
