De 15 a 27 de abril, o Riopreto Shopping recebe a exposição inédita Aves e seus Cantos, uma verdadeira imersão na leveza, nas cores e nos sons das aves brasileiras, através das lentes dos fotógrafos Dina Lúcia Lucas Bessa e José Elias Bessa, com participação de integrantes do Fotoclube Rio Preto e Branco. 

Inspirados pelo passarinhar – termo carinhoso usado por observadores de aves para descrever a prática de sair à natureza para observar e registrar pássaros – os expositores revelam, em imagens sensíveis e detalhadas, uma pequena parte das quase 2 mil espécies que habitam o Brasil. 

A mostra apresenta não apenas fotografias, mas também uma experiência sensorial, com QRCodes interativos que conduzem o público a sons e curiosidades de cada espécie, por meio do WikiAves, o maior site brasileiro dedicado à observação e à ciência cidadã das aves. 

A exposição também celebra a trajetória de Dina Lúcia e José Elias Bessa, que há mais de 20 anos se dedicam voluntariamente à pesquisa, observação e registro fotográfico de aves, com mais de 700 espécies catalogadas em diversas regiões do país.

Atualmente, o casal se dedica a um trabalho inédito: o levantamento das espécies presentes nos 37 municípios da Região Metropolitana de São José do Rio Preto. 

Entre as histórias curiosas dessa trajetória está o registro feito por Dina Lúcia, em 2011, de um Aracuã, até então sem ocorrência registrada no Estado de São Paulo. O achado chamou a atenção de especialistas e resultou na validação de uma nova ave rara e ameaçada de extinção, hoje chamada de Aracuã-guarda-faca (Ortalis remota), cuja ocorrência é exclusiva da região Noroeste paulista.

A exposição conta ainda com obras de: Agnor Guevara, Donizete Batista, Flávio Damasceno, Gisele Spiewak, Gustavo Asciutti, José Henrique Chaim, José Marques Lopes, Paulo Berton, Ricardo Boni, Ruy Barbosa Junior, Suzi Ruiz, Ulisses Andrade e os organizadores Dina Lúcia Lucas Bessa e José Elias Bessa.
