 A renomada artista plástica rio-pretense, Maria Helena Curti, lança no próximo dia 29, o livro “A Arte Fabulosa da Aquarela”, que narra sua trajetória profissional e traz ilustrações de suas principais obras. A noite de autógrafos será realizada na Sociedade de Medicina (Clube do Médico), a partir das 19h.

Publicado pela editora Observador Legal, com prefácio do jurista e escritor Durval de Noronha Goyos Jr., e introdução de Herbert Mercer, o livro custa R$ 120 e terá 30% da renda destinada para a reforma da Igreja da Redentora, presidida pelo padre Jarbas Brandini.

A obra conta sobre a vida da artista desde a infância, quando estudou no Cardeal Leme, até a fase adulta quando se matriculou no Colégio Santa Marcelina, em São Paulo. Na capital, iniciou os cursos de pintura e, posteriormente, aprimorou técnicas de aquarela.

O livro traz ilustrações de diversas telas premiadas, como A Colegial, Cheiro de Maresia, Vendedoras de Cerâmica, Galo Índio, É de Angola, entre outras.

“Eu nunca me atrevi a sonhar com a possibilidade de escrever um livro, mas recebi um ultimato do amigo Dr. Durval de Noronha Goyos Jr, há 8 anos, no Palácio Pamphili, em Roma. Na ocasião ele me disse que eu não era eterna e que deveria gastar ‘dois tostões’ e escrever um livro. Hoje, aos 85 anos, senti que era o momento ideal”, conta Maria Helena.

Sobre a artista

Maria Helena Curti tem 85 anos e décadas dedicadas à técnica da aquarela, tendo exposto suas obras em diversos estados do Brasil e em vários países como Suíça, Portugal, Argentina, EUA, Itália, França, China, Reino Unido, Noruega e Sérvia.

Membro da Academia Rio-pretense de Letras e Cultura desde 2008, é titular da cadeira 10.
